Product Description

Sta - Plug™ by Forespar is an innovative form - fitting emergency plug. Its soft cone - shaped design is a game - changer, effortlessly filling irregular hull impact breaches and round holes from hoses or through - hulls. The unique edge - gripping riblets are a key feature. They not only help the plug conform precisely to the hole's shape, especially near the edge where a tight fit is vital, but also hold it securely in place. Sta - Plug™'s series of concentrically larger riblets along the cone offer two major advantages over traditional straight - edged plugs: a better fit and a more secure hold. You can easily twist and compress it by hand to insert into the hole, and it expands after insertion. This plug is for temporary emergency use with continuous monitoring, giving skippers peace of mind to focus on getting the boat to safety. Made from high - density foam, it stays soft for years, won't mold or swell like wood plugs. It can be cut with a knife for irregular holes or torn by hand near the riblets for smaller holes. Tearing at the 8th riblet makes a 2” diameter base plug. Its bright orange color ensures quick location in an emergency. It measures 9” high and 5” in diameter at the base and is proudly made in the USA. Note, it's not for fuel leaks.

Using the Sta - Plug Emergency Plug is easy. First, when you spot a leak, take the plug and twist and compress it by hand. Then insert it into the hole. After insertion, it will expand and hold itself in place. If the hole is irregular, you can use a knife to cut the plug to fit. For smaller holes, tear the plug by hand near the riblets. Tearing at the 8th riblet gives you a plug with a 2 - inch diameter base. Remember, this plug is only for temporary emergency use. You need to continuously monitor the situation and focus on getting your boat to safety. As for maintenance, since it's made of high - density foam that won't mold or swell, you can just store it in a dry place. Keep in mind that it's not suitable for fuel leaks. The bright orange color helps you quickly find it in an emergency, so always make sure it's in an accessible location on your boat.
