The Furuno FA170 is an outstanding Class A AIS Transponder featuring a 4.3' Color LCD Display. It vividly shows symbols of AIS - equipped vessels, AIS - SARTs, coastal stations, and other navigation aids within the VHF range. The AIS data can be smoothly output to ECDIS, Radar, or other navigational tools for effective collision avoidance. With 6 in/out ports, 3 input - only ports, one LAN port, and one alarm output port, it's well - equipped. It meets the BAM requirements of IMO MSC.302 (87) and has an optional Pilot Plug. This compact device can store up to 2,048 AIS targets and sarts. Select a target, and a pop - up window with detailed info appears. You can also create AIS messages or send name requests. When it spots dangerous targets, it provides a list. It can exchange short safety messages via VHF channels and store up to 20 transmitters and 20 received messages.
