Product Description

The Furuno BBDS1 is an innovative network fish finder designed for NavNet 3D and NavNet TZtouch systems. It comes with a brand - new bottom discrimination function and the FDF (Furuno Digital Filter) capability of the DFF1. The BBDS1 analyzes echo characteristics to determine bottom structure, classifying it into mud, sand, gravel, or rock. Connect it to your NavNet network, and your system will offer valuable info to find great fishing spots and increase your catch. There are two display modes: Standard Mode shows the most likely bottom materials in graphic or a 4 - color bar, while Probability Mode displays the proportion of possible materials. Standard features include 50/200 kHz alternate transmission, 600 W/1 kW output power, 12 - 24 VDC power supply, and a wide temperature and humidity range. For bottom discrimination, specific conditions like a 5 - 100 m detection range, 0 - 10 kn boat speed, and proper transducer mounting are required. Certain transducers work well with bottom discrimination, while others don't. Note that the results may vary from actual conditions, and some transducer types aren't recommended for best performance.

To use the Furuno BBDS1, first connect it to your NavNet 3D or NavNet TZtouch network. Make sure to choose a compatible transducer from the list of those that work with bottom discrimination. Once connected, turn on the bottom discrimination function, and the auto - mode will activate automatically. When you're out on the water, keep your boat speed between 0 - 10 kn and ensure the detection range is within 5 - 100 m for accurate bottom discrimination. Remember, the results shown may not always match the actual bottom components, especially when there's a large school of fish under the boat. Avoid using in - hull or 'shoot - thru' transducers for the best performance. As for maintenance, keep the device in a dry place within the temperature range of - 15 to + 55 degrees Celsius. Regularly check the connections and cables for any signs of wear or damage. If you encounter any issues, refer to the user manual or contact Furuno support.
