Product Description

Blue Sea Systems presents the 187-Series 100A surface-mounted circuit breaker, model 7144-BSS. This all-in-one device combines switching and circuit protection. It features a clear single-lever operation, and its 'Trip Free' design ensures safety during fault currents. It's waterproof, with recessed mounting holes for a neat look. The large clearance around terminal studs can accommodate heavy gauge wire lugs, and the robust 5/16 M8 terminals offer high torque connections. The large lever in vertical/horizontal orientation shows the trip status. It's ignition protected, safe for gasoline-powered boats and meets SAE J1171 requirements. Note: Don't use it as a switch for high inrush currents. Specifications include 100A amperage, 48vDC maximum voltage, surface mounting, a thermally responsive bi-metal blade, 75 in-lb (8.47 Nm) terminal stud torque, and more.

Using this Blue Sea circuit breaker is straightforward. First, make sure to mount it on a flat surface using the #10 (M5) screws. Connect the heavy gauge wire lugs to the terminal studs. When you turn the lever, it switches the circuit on or off. Keep in mind that you shouldn't use it as a switch where high inrush currents are expected. As for maintenance, regularly check for any signs of damage or wear on the case and terminals. Make sure the mounting is secure. The breaker can operate in temperatures from -40°C to 85°C, but try to keep it within a reasonable range for better performance. If it trips, it's a sign that there's an issue in the circuit. Reset it only after you've fixed the problem. And since it's ignition protected, it's safe to use on gasoline-powered boats, but always follow proper safety procedures.
