Blue Sea Systems 187-Series 40A Surface Mount Circuit Breaker
Model: 7138-BSS
This amazing circuit breaker combines switching and circuit protection in one device. It features a clear single-lever operation, and its 'Trip Free' design ensures safety during fault currents. It's waterproof and has recessed mounting holes for a clean look. The large clearance around terminal studs can accept heavy gauge wire lugs, and the robust 5/16 M8 terminals provide high torque connections. The large lever with vertical/horizontal orientation indicates the trip status. It's ignition protected, perfect for gasoline-powered boats and meets SAE J1171 external ignition protection requirements. Note: Don't use it as a switch for high inrush currents.

Using this circuit breaker is easy. First, make sure to mount it on a surface using the recessed mounting holes with #10 (M5) screws. Connect heavy gauge wire lugs to the terminal studs, which have a large clearance for easy connection. The large lever on the breaker can be used to indicate the trip status. You can orient it vertically or horizontally as you like. When installing it on a gasoline-powered boat, you can rest assured as it's ignition protected. Remember, don't use it as a switch when there are high inrush currents. For maintenance, keep it in an environment between -40° C and 85° C. Check the terminal stud torque regularly to ensure it's at 75 in-lb (8.47 Nm). The breaker is waterproof, but try to avoid long - term exposure to excessive moisture. If the breaker trips, manually reset it by moving the lever to the appropriate position.
