Product Description

The Faria Chesapeake Black 4-inch tachometer with Systemcheck indicator is designed for Johnson and Evinrude outboard engines. It features a perimeter-lighted black dial with stylish blue and white graphics, a polished stainless steel bezel, a contoured white pointer, and a domed anti-scratch glass lens. This tachometer counts pulses from the ignition system, alternator, tach signal generator, or magnetic pickup sender. You just need to connect it to +12VDC, ground, and one of the signal sources. By setting the back switch correctly, it can detect how many pulses are sent per engine revolution. The built - in warning light system in the dial shows indicators for faults like no oil, engine overheat, check engine, and low oil. With a 3.375 - inch (85mm) hole size, it's suitable for these outboard engines. It operates on 12 VDC negative ground and can be adapted for 24 VDC systems. Factory P/N is TC9884. Sold individually, gauge cover not included. This product may not be returned to the point of purchase. Contact the manufacturer directly for issues. Specifications: Tachometer with System Check, Chesapeake Black series, 12/24 V input voltage, 4 - inch gauge size, not a box set, box dimensions 5'H x 6'W x 6'L, 0.7 lbs, UPC 745425337507. Quick Guide (pdf).

Using this tachometer is easy. First, find a suitable place to install it where you can easily see it while operating the engine. Connect the tachometer to +12VDC, ground, and one of the listed signal sources such as the ignition system, alternator, tach signal generator, or magnetic pickup sender. Then, set the switch on the back of the tachometer to the correct position according to your engine's specifications so that it can accurately count the pulses per engine revolution. As you use the engine, keep an eye on the warning lights on the dial. If any of the warning indicators like 'No Oil', 'Engine Overheat', 'Check Engine', or 'Low Oil' come on, stop the engine immediately and check for the issue. When it comes to maintenance, keep the glass lens clean. You can use a soft, dry cloth to wipe it gently to avoid scratching. Since it can be adapted for 24 VDC systems, make sure to double - check the voltage requirements before making any changes. Remember, this product cannot be returned to the original place of purchase. If you have any problems, contact the manufacturer directly.
