*The mounting platform should be at least 3/8" thick, and the hole size shouldn't be more than 1/16" larger in diameter than the threaded shank
Using your CURT 2-5/16" trailer ball is straightforward. First, make sure your mounting platform is at least 3/8" thick and the hole size is no more than 1/16" larger in diameter than the threaded shank. Attach the ball using the zinc - plated hex nut and helical lock washer provided. Tighten it to the recommended torque of 250 ft. lb. When towing, always check that the ball fits the 2 - 5/16" coupler properly and never exceed the 7,500 - lb capacity. Also, remember that you should never go over the lowest weight capacity of any towing component, like your vehicle, hitch, or trailer. For maintenance, since it has a stainless - steel finish, it has good rust resistance. But it's still a good idea to clean it regularly with a mild soap and water solution after towing. Check the ball and the mounting parts for any signs of wear or damage before each use. If you notice any issues, don't use the ball and contact CURT for further advice. With proper use and care, your CURT trailer ball will serve you well for a long time.
