Product Description

The Ancor heat shrink butt connectors are top - notch. The cross - linked polyolefin tubing is far stronger than PVC and won't burn like it. The heat - activated adhesive lining creates an impervious seal against salt water, oil, acids, and sunlight, and it also relieves strain. With a nylon insulator favored by experts, it offers Marine Grade™ resistance to sunlight, water, oil, chemicals, vibration, and cut - through damage. It's UL Listed and CSA Recognized. It has a high shrink ratio, shrinking to 1/3 of its original size at 257°F/125°C. The operating temperature ranges from 40°C to 110°C. These connectors have heat - activated adhesive in the sleeve of the heat shrink tubing, forming a watertight seal and excellent vibration and strain relief. They are tinned for corrosion resistance, made of pure copper for maximum current flow, and have a brazed seam for maximum strength. Available in different wire ranges like 12 - 10 (3 - 5mm), 16 - 14 (1 - 2mm), and 22 - 18 (0.3 - 0.8mm), with options of 100 or 500 per pack.

Using these Ancor heat shrink butt connectors is easy. First, select the right connector according to your wire range. Strip the ends of your wires, insert them into the connector. Then, use a heat gun to apply heat evenly around the connector. When the tubing starts to shrink and the adhesive oozes out, it means a good seal is being formed. As for precautions, make sure to wear heat - resistant gloves when using the heat gun to avoid burns. Don't overheat the connector as it may damage the tubing or the adhesive. For maintenance, keep them in a dry and cool place. If you notice any signs of corrosion on the connectors, you may need to replace them. Also, check the integrity of the tubing regularly, and if it's cracked or damaged, it's time for a new one.
