Using the Blue Sea 187-Series 40 Amp Panel-Mounted Circuit Breaker is straightforward. First, mount it on a panel using the provided mounting holes and #10 (M5) screws. Connect your wires to the terminal studs, making sure they're tightened to the recommended 75 in-lb (8.47 Nm) torque. The single lever is used to turn the circuit breaker on and off. If there's a fault current, the 'Trip Free' design will automatically trip the breaker, and the large lever will show the tripped status. Just flip the lever back to reset it. Remember, don't use it as a switch in situations with high inrush currents. To keep it in good condition, clean it regularly and make sure it's installed in an environment within the -40° C to 85° C temperature range. It's waterproof, but try to avoid excessive moisture if possible. This circuit breaker is ignition protected, so it's safe for use on gasoline-powered boats.
