Using this tachometer is easy. First, make sure you've got a diesel engine with a magnetic pick - up. Hook it up to +12VDC, ground, and one of the signal sources like the ignition system or alternator. Then, select the right tach and set the switch on the back according to how many pulses are sent per engine revolution. When it comes to installation, keep in mind the 4 - inch size and the 3.375 - inch hole size. As for maintenance, the anti - scratch glass lens and plastic cases are great. The plastic cases resist corrosion, so it'll last a long time. If you have a 24 VDC system, you can adapt this tachometer to work with it. But remember, this product can't be returned to the place you bought it from. If you run into any problems, reach out to the manufacturer directly.
