Using this tachometer is easy. First, connect it to +12VDC, ground, and one of the signal sources like the ignition system or alternator. Then, set the switch on the back to the correct position according to how many pulses are sent per engine revolution. When you start your Johnson or Evinrude gas outboard, the tachometer will show the RPM. Keep an eye on the warning light system on the dial. If you see a warning indicator for no oil, engine overheat, check engine, or low oil, stop your engine right away and check for problems. To maintain your tachometer, keep it clean. You can use a soft cloth to wipe the anti-scratch glass lens. The plastic case is corrosion-resistant, but try to keep it away from harsh chemicals. Remember, this product can't be returned to the original place of purchase. If you have any issues or concerns, contact the manufacturer directly.
