Get this 2-pack of Ancor Adhesive Lined Heat Shrink Tubing (ALT) with one black and one red piece. Each section is 3 feet (7.6 cm) long and has a 1/2-inch (12.7 mm) diameter, shrinking down to 5/32 inches (4 mm). It's suitable for wire sizes 8 - 4 AWG. This tubing is made of cross-linked polyolefin, much stronger than PVC and won't burn like it. The heat-activated adhesive lining seals out salt water, oil, acids, and sunlight, and provides strain relief. It has a high shrink ratio, shrinking to 1/3 of its original size at 257°F / 125°C. The operating temperature ranges from -40°C to 110°C and it's UL 224 compliant. Warning: This product may expose you to di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (dehp), a chemical known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm in California.
