The Chesapeake Black 4-inch tachometer with hourmeter is perfect for gas inboard engines up to 6000 RPM. It features a perimeter-lighted black dial with stylish blue and white graphics, a polished stainless steel bezel, a contoured white pointer, and a domed glass lens. This electronic tachometer counts pulses from the ignition system, alternator, tach signal generator, or magnetic pickup sender. It connects to +12VDC, ground, and one of the listed signal sources. You can set the switch on the back to match the number of pulses per engine revolution. With a 3.375-inch (85mm) hole size, it's easy to install. Key features include an anti-scratch glass lens, perimeter lighted backlight, 12 VDC negative ground (adaptable for 24 VDC systems), and a scale from 0 to 10000 hours. Factory P/N is TC9127. Using this tachometer is easy. First, make sure your engine is off. Connect the tachometer to +12VDC, ground, and one of the signal sources like the ignition system or alternator. Set the switch on the back to match the number of pulses per engine revolution of your engine. Once everything is connected, start your engine and the tachometer will show the RPM and the hourmeter will start counting hours. When it comes to maintenance, keep the anti-scratch glass lens clean with a soft cloth.
