This solar - powered station is a great choice for monitoring your soil. It comes with a transmitter and battery in a weather - resistant shelter, along with 4 soil moisture sensors and 4 temperature probes. To view the data, simply add a wireless Vantage Pro2 console/receiver, Weather Envoy, or WeatherLink. You can even customize your station by adding up to 2 leaf wetness sensors (sold separately). Using this Davis wireless soil moisture and temperature station is easy. First, install the solar - powered station with the transmitter and battery in the weather - resistant shelter at a suitable location. Then, place the 4 soil moisture sensors and 4 temperature probes in the soil where you want to monitor. To view the data, connect a wireless Vantage Pro2 console/receiver, Weather Envoy, or WeatherLink. You can also add leaf wetness sensors (sold separately) to customize the station. When using, make sure the station is in an area with enough sunlight for the solar power. Keep the sensors clean and free from debris. If you're using the additional leaf wetness sensors, check them regularly for proper function. For maintenance, check the battery periodically and replace it if needed.
